The Tübingen Afrika-Festival 2016 has started!
From Thursday morning till Sunday evening, the Afrika-Festival Tübingen 2016 shall take place on the Festplatz in Tübingen. Like every year, we are present in a pavillon, where we inform about our research activities in Cameroon.
Particular topics of this year’s festival are the scientific collaboration & research.
Mor information on the festival is available at:
Our last year’s presentatation can be found at:

We are looking forward to this meeting – the temperatures are already Africa-like hot.
And we would be very pleased meeting you there in our pavillon, close to the entrance of the festival-site.
We used the the time of the first morning, when not so many visitors came, to design our tent’s decoration: A Simulium female fly, ready to attack! With Archille and Babette, starting with a plate of styrodur, we cut the silhuette of the fly and painted it in black. Obviously this fly was so attravtive to the local flies, that one Simulium blackfly (presumably S. argyreatum) came to bite Archille on his ellbow, just by the end of the day. This fly found its place under the presentation microscope!
The Africa-Bussiness-Forum brought together an illusteous group of participants from the politics, industry and lays, focussing on German-African relationship under the heading: Beziehungen neu definieren.
A more detailed report shall follow.
In the evening, a thunderstorm was coming and drowned the festival for almost 2 hours. The music however continued to play and the tents gave shelter from the rains.
