Dr. rer. nat. Goetz WAHL

Born 12.04.1959 in Boppard (Rheinland-Pfalz).

Childhood and youth in Egypt and Ethiopia, where my father was teacher / head master at the German Schools in Cairo and Addis Abeba.

1976-1980: End of schooling and social year in Boppard.

Goetz Wahl did his PhD in the Programme Onchocercoses project and was responsible for the field-station in Ngaoundéré from 1987 to 1992

1980-1985: Studies in biology and chemistry in Marburg, Statesboro (USA), Mainz, Tübingen.

1986-1988: Diplom (master’s degree) in biology, Staatsexamen (teaching degree) in biology and chemistry.

1998-1991: Parasitological and entomological PhD-thesis in the Programme Onchocercoses Research Project at Ngaoundéré (Cameroon) on the epidemiology of animal and human onchocercoses, financed by the EU.

1991-1992: WHO-project on the screening of filaricidal substances in the O. ochengi-cattle-modell.

1993-1995: Head of research group on the epidemiology, immunology and chemotherapy of loiasis at the Centre de Recherches Médicales (CIRMF) in Franceville (Gabun).

1995-1997: High school teaching degree in Boppard.

1998-2005: High school teacher for biology and chemistry in Haldensleben (Sachsen-Anhalt).

Since 2006: Head of public health reporting for the federal state of Sachsen-Anhalt at the Landesamt für Verbraucherschutz in Magdeburg.
